ECOWAS – Supplementary Protocol A/SP1/7/86 on the Second Phase (Right of Residence) of the Protocol on Free Movement of persons, the Right of Residence and Establishment
Adopted on 1 July 1986 in Abuja, Nigeria, this is a supplementary protocol to the 1979 Protocol on Free Movement of persons, the Right of Residence and Establishment, and spells out provisions to implement the Right of Residence (Phase 2).
The following Member States signed the supplementary treaty:
Benin, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Cape Verde, Guinea, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea Bissau, Gambia, Liberia, Niger, Mali, Nigeria, Mauritania, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo.
